Short Bio

Jane L. Fitzpatrick is a Founder and Executive Director of a 501c3 nonprofit company, Humanity Shines Organization. She wrote the award-winning screenplay Sacajawea, The Windcatcher, which is now a feature film in development. The script won Best Historical Script in the ONIROS Film Awards, Best Feature Script at the Portland Screenplay Awards in 2023, and she won the Star of Venice Award at the Venice Under the Stars Int’l Film Festival for Best Feature Script, Best Original Concept, and Best Author. Jane has worked as a writer, executive producer, producer, associate producer, production assistant, and featured extra. She has owned & operated several film-related businesses including Spirit Wind Films and Broken Hand Productions, which has built a solid slate of film projects. She has written a children’s feature script Kimama’s Wings and created a children’s anime series called Moon Drake, writing 5 of the 12 episodes. The stories from this series encompass every continent and address the environmental, spiritual and human conflicts we all face, weaving together cultural wisdom and traditions from indigenous people around the earth. In addition, Jane has written four books including The Path, a promotional book for the film project Sacajawea, The Windcatcher; her inspirational book Awakening, which was a BookFest award-winner in 2023; a children’s book entitled The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea; and a preteen award-winning book entitled Crabtree: Lost Kids of Borealonon. Her passion has always been to create a nonprofit that embraces the human spirit and focuses on our Indigenous Oneness around the world. In 2023 her passion became a reality.
