Sacajawea, The Windcatcher WINS Best Historical Script

This morning I woke up and had a cup of coffee while watching the coronation of a new King. I picked up my phone and opened gmail… and then, I just couldn’t breathe for a second. It was from the Oniros Film Awards!

After 20 years, with 12 rewrites, controversies and hurdles to overcome… I was shocked to read: Sacajawea, The Windcatcher has WON Best Historical Script.

I just felt so grateful, so happy for this young girl who took a journey that we still remember over 200 years later. A spiritual being who lived, and walked, and cried, and loved. A girl who made an impression on a group of explorers, enough so that they wrote about her in their journals.

Sacajawea, The Windcatcher creates a historical backdrop with the Lewis and Clark Expedition and presents it through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl, a mother, a peacemaker. There is history and there is spirit and when the two blend together their message is timeless and powerful.

Thank you to my family and friends, and our amazing, inspiring team! Believe in the journey, it brings us incredible wonders!!

ONWARD!
Jane
