By Jane L. Fitzpatrick (February 5, 1980)
Time does not stand still for us gulls,
We see a rainbow and we must fly to it.
We catch the glow of the moon on our wings,
And we believe we are invincible.
But sometimes we lose our way,
Only Spirit watches where we will go…
And knows how long it will take,
For our return.
But when we do return,
Every dark, billowing cloud will disappear.
And our wiser wings will glide,
With a greater purpose and mission.
As the warm, shimmering rays of the sun,
Embrace us all again.
