Creator, God, Energy, Vibration, the Unstoppable Imagination of the Universe are In, Around, and Through all things, all Powerful, all Knowing – And all of this is working in mysterious ways… for YOU.

This Infinite Force cannot be fully defined through labels, for it cannot be kept in a box. It cannot be limited or discerned in the mind, nor can it be judged by human standards. Spiritual words cannot be owned by anyone, for the learning is there for us all. In Truth, it can only be shared through love, compassion, and faith with Spiritual joy over-flowing and pouring out.

These mysterious ways are unlimited and magnificent. We must open our eyes and ears, our hearts and souls, we must get out-of-the-way and be ready to receive, even those things we do not understand.

Fear not.

In 2003, I began writing Sacajawea, The Windcatcher. It was an enlightening, life-changing experience and I completed it in 2007, after many, many revisions. My first meeting with the Shoshone people was in 2010, which helped me incorporate their traditions and spirituality into the story. They even trusted me to include factual information that was not known outside of their people.

I believed, at this point, that the screenplay was ready, and in 2012-14, I went to California determined to get it produced into a film. Trying to secure funding was a daunting task (and one that is still ongoing). During those two years I felt so alone missing my family, but I made wonderful friendships and had opportunities in film that I never would have had, otherwise.

Since 1997, when my spirit began to awaken, preparing for her story to be told, I felt that what I believed all my life was being turned up-side-down and pulled inside-out… Yet in the end, and after my journey to California and also New Mexico, I would realize that nothing was being thrown away, it was actually being ignited to a deeper place. Creator put the exact “right” people on the path, dark and light, and I was ultimately renewed. Spirit, indeed, works in mysterious ways.

The words of this book “Awakening” were part of that sojourn – it was my “40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.” Nearly every night I was awakened at 3 AM with words on my heart that were bursting out. I wrote those words on the back of the pages of my Sacajawea script. Eventually, some of them found their way into this book, coupled with photos taken along the path.

By the time I left California, I had discovered that I was never there to make a movie, it was for a far greater purpose. I believe this book was written by a Spiritual Wind that had moved me, giving me an adventurous spirit to search out Truth over those 29 years.

One of the poems defined the essence of what I found to be true for me. It’s called “True Purpose” through which I realized we make everything so complicated in this world, we get confused and sidetracked, and we try to figure it all out based on things that are unreliable. We forget that the mysterious ways of the Universe are at work for us, and that we can trust our own heart to awaken. No one can make that happen, except us alone.
